This week's location is all about fishing near Bay of Plenty and Mauitaha Island...
Spot 1: 37'09.518'S, 175'56.681'E Just north of Whangamata Harbour this rise is home to some very good Snapper and normally fishes well this time of year. Set up a good berley trail and stray line into it.
Spot 2: 35'50.165'S, 174'35.598'E Located at Bream Head this area has an array of foul ground. Fish all the little drop-offs and gutters. Great spot for Snapper, Gurnard and Tarakihi. you should even be able to pick up the occasional Kingfish there too.

This week's location is all about fishing near Whangamata Harbour and Mauitaha Island...

This week's location is all about fishing near Rackino Island and Palliser Bay...
Spot 1: 36'42.731'S, 174'59.516'E Behind Rakino Island this rock holds snapper all year round so take some berley out with you and stray-line into it. Make sure you put pressure on the fish early to prevent being busted off.
Spot 2: 41'36.530'S, 175'19.888'E These rocks along the southernmost point of the North Island just outside Palliser bay hold very nice Tarakihi, along with Blue Moki and Blue Cod.

This week's location is all about fishing near Motukumara Rock and Great Barrier Island...
Spot 1: 35'14.100'S, 174'18.876'E This dive spot along the Rawhiti peninsula hides some very large Crayfish and is a great spot for spearfishing.
Spot 2: 36'03.197'S, 175'22.124'E Fishing this drop off on the Great Barrier Island can produce some nice Hapuka. Using either filleted Kahawai or Barracouta will produce the goods.

Spot 1: 43'50.156'S, 173'06.081'E This spot along the Banks Peninsula coast is home to some mighty blue cod. No secrets here, just use a ledger rig with some Squid or Pilchard and wait for dinner to come biting.
Spot 2: 36'41.620'S, 175'53.681'E Time to target Tarakihi!! Well known for producing Tarakihi in the Mercury Bay area this pin is best fished on an incoming tide and in a NorWester.

This week's location is all about fishing near Great Mercury Island and Anapai Bay...
Spot 1: 36'34.684'S, 175'46.004'E This spot is called Ammunition Bay for a reason, it goes off! On the NW side of Great Mercury Island big baits produce big fish.
Spot 2: 40'48.376'S, 173'00.840'E Check out this spot if you are heading into Golden Bay as Kingfish love to hang out in this neighbourhood. Check your sounder, if there's livebait, jig or trawl a rapala, they all work.

This week's location is all about fishing near Wainuiomata Coast and Port Jackson...
Spot 1: 41'24.219'S, 174'51.512'E Arabella Rock out of the Wellington Harbour can be absolutely electric when the Kingfish are there. Either jig away or use a livie, both will work.
Spot 2: 36'27.653'S, 175'21.301'E Top of the Coromandel, Colville reef is more infamous for Kahawai. But BIG Kingfish can be found there too.

Spot 1: 35'33.185'S, 174'31.235'E This spot in Ngunguru, Northland is a great spot to pick up Kingfish this coming long weekend.
Spot 2: 34.56.154'S, 173'29.087'E Sitting in the middle of the beautiful Doubtless bay this spot is well known for holding large amounts of Snapper.

This week's location is all about fishing near Ponui Island and Cape Maria...
Spot 1: 36'49.618'S, 175'12.040'E You are all but guaranteed a feed of Snapper at this small passage below Rotorua Is. in the Hauraki gulf. It also offers good shelter in poor conditions.
Spot 2: 34'28.817'S, 172'32.389'E If you want big fish, this is the spot. Alongside Cape Maria van Diemen, Pandora Bank is the Mecca for XOS Snapper. Weather can get dodgy quick so be alert.

This week's location is all about fishing near Port Taranaki and Tasman Sea...
Spot 1: 39'03.425'S, 174'02.903'E Take the kids down to the Lee Breakwater in New Plymouth for some sprat fishing. Use bait flies/sabikis and small chunks of Bonito to hook them. They'll love it.
Spot 2: 37'51.936'S, 174'43.276'E Just south of Raglan Harbour can produce large Kingfish under balloons.

This week's location is all about fishing near Dunedin and Waiheke Island...
Spot 1: 45'55.998'S, 170'30.743'E Using ledger rigs at this spot in front of St Kilda, Dunedin can produce some good Tarakihi. But be weary of the weather eh.
Spot 2: 36'45.221'S, 175'12.779'E This hole on the eastern side of Waiheke produces some brilliant John Dory, watch out for the Barracouta though.

Spot 1: 41'04.490'S, 174'47.279'E Out of Porirua on the northern side of Mana island there's a lot of rough ground here. Expect to pick up Kingfish.
Spot 2: 36'38.391'S, 175'46.531'E This southern point of Great Mercury Island is well known for producing large snapper. Stray lining with a bit of a berley trail will bring them out here.

Spot 1: 34'34.350'S, 172'40.765'E This small reef off the northern point of 90 mile beach is a favourite hangout for large Snapper.
Spot 2: 46'48.565'S, 168'14.418'E Hunt for small drop-offs around this area just out from Bluff. They can hold some really BIG Blue cod and Trumpeter.

This week's location is all about fishing near Kapiti Island and Kaipara Harbour...
Spot 1: 40'52.731'S.174'55.821'E This small island off Kapiti is perfect for targeting those big Kingfish with a live-bait. Try a stray-line for Snapper while you're at it.
Spot 2: 36'23.796'S, 174'07.337'E Located at the entrance to the Kaipara harbour this spot produces some large Snapper. Heavy sinkers and strong traces are a must.

Spot 1: 41'26.450'S, 174'46.250'E Just out of Wellington harbour this spot is a killer for Bluenose. You can also pick up some good Grouper and Tarakihi here too.
Spot 2: 36'45.087'S, 175'23.542'E Head for this rock out of the Coromandel harbour with plenty of stick baits, get ready for some good Kingfish action.

Spot 1: 40'41.314'S, 173'58.099'E This is a good spot to try if you are in the Marlborough Sounds area and in want of a few Kingfish. Live baiting under a balloon normally does the damage here.
Spot 2: 35'52.645'S, 174'43.038'E This spot at The Hen and Chickens isn't known as the war zone for just any reason. Expect big snapper!

Spot 1: 34'49.479'S, 176'24.527'E This dive spot at Matai Bay in Northland is a very safe dive for spear fisherman and and divers alike with a good mixture of Crayfish and Snapper hanging about.
Spot 2: 36'19.797'S, 175'32.735'E This spot at Great Barrier island fishes best at this time of year and produces some real XOS snapper. Perhaps a new PB?

This week's location is all about fishing near Nelson and Manukau Harbour...
Spot 1: 41'08.140'S, 173'25.320'E This spot just up from Nelson holds the lot - Kingfish, Snapper, Blue Cod and even a Terakihi or two. A lot of current here so if you set up a good berley, you will reap the rewards.
Spot 2: 37'02.035'S, 174'39.602'E Out on the Manukau Harbour the number 4 buoy can produce some good snapper, especially as summer continues to tick by. You may also pick up an odd Kingfish or Bronze Whaler here.

This week's location is all about fishing near Omaha and Wiaheke Island...
Spot 1: 36'49.790'S, 174'58.256'E Setting up a drift across this spot off the south side of Waiheke has been known to account for good sized snapper and even the occasional Kingfish. Using slow jigs of softies would be the ideal method.
Spot 2: 36'19.415'S, 174'46.79'E Head north along Omaha beach until you reach the rock groins. From here swim or paddle out large smelly baits (butterflied bonito or anything bloody does well) about 50m from shore - it doesn't need to be too far. Sit back and relax on the beach until a big Bronzy comes and swallows your bait.

Spot 1: 38'46.600'S, 177'58.900'E Famously known by the Gisborne locals, this spot just off Young Nicks head can provide some good Snapper.
Spot 2: 34'48.723'S, 173'23.740'E. Fishing around this island just off Karikari peninsula can produce some very good Kingfish. Both jigging and live baiting will do the job here.

This week's location is all about fishing for Snapper and Blue Cod near Kaikura and Mahia...
Spot 1: 42'26.404'S, 173'41.240'E Hidden just off the Kaikoura coast this spot is notorious for good Blue Cod.
Spot 2: 339'18.925'S, 177'56.958'E This spot just on the way into the Hawkes Bay can be a little difficult to fish given the foul ground, however, it can hold some good rewards with Snapper, Trevally and even Blue Cod showing up.

Spot 1: 336'58.691'S, 175'54.791'E Drifting across little reef just out from Tairua can produce some good Snapper, along with the off chance of a Tarakihi or two.
Spot 2: 34'58.896'S, 173'58.343'E Like most of the Cavalli Islands, this spot has the ability to produce big fish of different species. Live baiting Jack Mackerals is the go here for Kingfish along with some Horse Snapper.
