Bring in the big ones
Built for trolling Tuna and Marlin or deep bottom fishing for Hapuka and Kingie, the Tica Gold 50W 2-Speed Shimano Status Blue Water Game Combo pairs the dual drag TiCA Team Gold 50WTS with a 5ft 6in one-piece Shimano Status Blue Water roller tip rod rated to 24kg. It's a heavy-duty offshore outfit with the strength to handle the big ones.
The Reel
The TiCA Team Gold 50WTS 2-Speed Big Game Reel is a high quality game fishing reel designed to give you powerful and smooth performance. It features a one-piece frame, and the spool and side plate are carved from solid T6061 aircraft aluminium and then gold anodised for perfect corrosion resistance. The dual drag plates sit either side of the spool to ensure smoothness and dissipate heat, and there is an extra loud line out alarm. It also comes with 6 sealed precision stainless steel rust resistant ball bearings for smoothness and reliability. With 2 speed gears you can switch from low speed to high speed with just a touch of a button, perfect for when you are fighting those stubborn and powerful Marlin.
The Rod
A combination of the Status Bent Butt and the classic Tiagra rod, the Shimano Status Blue Water Roller Tip Game Rod is built to tackle the most dynamic offshore and inshore sport fishing situations found throughout NZ's surrounding oceans. Featuring powerful E-Glass/carbon construction, this rod has extreme strength while still maintaining a comfortable feel, making it perfect for fishing with electric reels, and both Tiagra and Talica reels. It is finished with Pac Bay guides, an Aftco roller tip and a straight slick carbon butt.
