AIS search and rescue transponder for emergency location tracking
The ACR Pathfinder AIS SART 2940 Search and Rescue Transponder is an approved AIS Search and Rescue Transmitter that complies with IMO SOLAS regulations and meets the mandatory SART carriage requirements for vessels subject to GMDSS. It uses AIS Class A position reports to transmit eight position report messages per minute, allowing AIS-equipped vessels within VHF range to track the SART's location in an emergency.
With an average detection range of 5 nautical miles, it uses GNSS/GPS positioning to transmit location coordinates. Its lithium battery provides up to 96 hours of operating life, while NFC technology supports product registration and provides access to test data.
The SART includes a wall mount for accessible storage and can be suspended inside a survival craft for hands-free use. An optional telescopic pole attaches to the bottom of the unit and extends 1m to increase height and visibility when used from a liferaft or lifeboat.
