Built on the same platform trusted by offshore anglers around the world, the Makaira Yellowfin Tuna Limited Edition features a rigid 6061-T6 machined aluminium frame and side plate construction for maximum strength and precise alignment under heavy drag loads. Forged and machined aluminium spools, oversized stainless steel main and pinion gears, and precision-machined internal components provide the durability and cranking power needed for extreme offshore battles.
As part of the Makaira SEa family, the reel incorporates Okuma's advanced Dual Force Drag system with Carbonite drag washers and Cal's drag grease for smooth, consistent drag performance and superior heat management during long fights. Helical cut gearing increases gear engagement and smoothness, while the Silent Anti-Reverse system minimises handle back play and enhances reliability under heavy loads.
