Light line, long blank, proper slow pitch
For fishos working the slow pitch technique properly, the Daiwa Tierra 200H Battalion Acid Wrap Slow Jig Combo 6ft 8in 20lb teams the Tierra LJ IC 200H with the 6ft 8in, 1-piece PENN Battalion II acid wrap overhead slow jig rod rated 20lb for 100g jigs. The parabolic RCB2 blank flexes grip to tip and the IC counter puts your jig back at the right depth every drop. Durable, sensitive and versatile.
The Reel
The Daiwa 23 Tierra LJ IC 200H Deluxe Slow Jigging Reel is a high-performance jigging reel built for serious anglers. With 10kg of maximum drag - the strongest in its class - it has the hoisting power for heavy jigs. The built-in IC counter, ATD, Electronic Drag Sound and Synchro Level-Wind give you effortless control and precise line tracking, while Daiwa's Hyperdrive Design and full-metal Hyper-Armed housing keep it smooth and durable season after season. The electronic drag sound removes the mechanical click, so the drag keeps its full 10kg of power with less line wear.
The Rod
With slow pitch jigging growing worldwide, PENN answers with the PENN Battalion II Acid Wrap Overhead Slow Jig Rod. PENN's RCB2 construction combines a rolled composite core with outer layers of longitudinal glass for a lightweight, thin, parabolic blank that flexes from grip to tip and spreads the load for extra durability. Tangle-free Fuji K guides with Alconite inserts, a Fuji reel seat and tapered EVA grips make for a technical, sensitive and premium set-up, from nearshore bays and sounds out to offshore wrecks and bottom structure.
