The workhorse take on slow jigging
Hard-wearing gear that earns its keep, the Penn Slammer 5500 Demon Blood Boat / Slow Jigging Combo 6ft 50lb teams the IPX6 sealed Slammer IV 5500 with the 6ft, 1-piece Daiwa Demon Blood Solid S60-4 slow jig rod rated PE4 for jigs of 120-280g. Full metal body, brass CNC gears and 18.1kg of Dura-Drag over a heavy action solid blank - it is a set-up you can lean on. The ultimate workhorse reel on a rod to match.
The Reel
Built for those who expect a reel that can handle the stress of hard-pulling fish, the PENN Slammer IV 5500 Spinning Reel is packed with more features than ever. Building off PENN's proven IPX6 sealed body and spool, the drag system is better sealed and offers a wider range of usable drag, all while being bearing supported for extra smoothness. All brass CNC gear technology, an 8+1 stainless steel bearing system and the Hydrophobic Line Roller Bearing make the Slammer IV the ultimate workhorse reel.
The Rod
The Daiwa Demon Blood Solid Spinning Slow Jig Rod is crafted around a 24-ton solid carbon blank wrapped with 30-ton graphite cloth, reinforcing the blank and creating the action you want for slow jigging. The solid blank is responsive and rebounds quickly to get maximum action out of slow fall style jigs, so your jig does exactly what you intend it to down there. Premium Fuji components back it up and the parabolic bend keeps you comfortable and in control even under heavy drag. This S60-4 model is rated PE 4 with a 120-280g lure range.
