Built for those who expect a reel that can handle the stress of hard-pulling fish, the PENN Slammer IV 5500 Spinning Reel is packed with more features than ever. Building off PENN's proven IPX6 sealed body and spool, the drag system is better sealed and offers a wider range of usable drag, all while being bearing supported for extra smoothness. All brass CNC gear technology, an 8+1 stainless steel bearing system and the Hydrophobic Line Roller Bearing make the Slammer IV the ultimate workhorse reel.
The Rod
The PENN Battalion Solid Spin Jig Rod gives you perfect control over your jig so you can tame the toughest species. Solid Spiral Armour technology creates a solid carbon blank that is 100% stronger than conventional carbon blanks while keeping a thin diameter for great sensitivity. Fuji Alconite guides make it extremely lightweight and the ergonomic high density EVA grips keep you comfortable through long battles. This PE2-4 medium action model is matched to jigs up to 200g.
