Short, strong and easy to work all day, the Okuma Cavalla 5N-S Single Speed Overhead Lever Drag Reel and the 6ft 3in two-piece Okuma X-Factor II Slim OH Slow Jig Rod are made for slow jigging the work-ups and straylining for big snapper. The rod handles jigs from 50-200g, while the machined aluminium Cavalla brings 11kg of carbonite lever drag at a quick 6.4:1 to pull them up. Built tough for harsh New Zealand conditions.
The Reel
The Okuma Cavalla 5N-S Single Speed Overhead Lever Drag Reel features a rigid narrow frame, a carbonite drag system with Cal's drag grease, and 17-4 grade stainless steel main and pinion gears. Cold forged, Type-II anodised machined aluminium construction and the CRC Corrosion Resistant Coating process mean it is built tough to withstand harsh New Zealand environments, covering everything from slow jigging the work-ups to straylining for big snapper.
The Rod
The Okuma X-Factor II Slim OH Slow Jig Rod features a tubular E-Glass and graphite blank resulting in superb power and sensitivity. Fitted with Fuji guides and reel seat, this 6ft 3in rod is made to be used with a baitcaster or small overhead and is perfect for slow jigging and strayline applications. The X-Factor II caters to a large part of the New Zealand market, offering second to none performance and value.
