Short rod, serious pulling power
A proper jigging outfit for the inshore grounds, the Penn Senator 112H2 Allegiance Overhead Boat Combo 5ft 50-80lb teams the Senator Special 112H2 star drag reel with the 5ft, 1-piece PENN Allegiance IV 501MH overhead jigging rod rated PE4-6. The short high-modulus graphite blank keeps the leverage on your side when a Kingfish digs in, and it is light enough to work jigs all day. It gives you the edge when a serious fish pulls back.
The Reel
Trusted by anglers for generations, the PENN Senator Special 112H2 High Speed Star Drag Overhead Reel delivers proven performance and durability for inshore, offshore and deep sea fishing. It is built for tough boat conditions with a machined and anodised aluminium spool, Bakelite side plates reinforced with stainless steel rings and a marine-grade bronze main gear. The optimised gear ratio balances torque for hauling fish with high speed retrieval, while HT-100 drag washers keep the drag smooth and consistent under heavy loads.
The Rod
The PENN Allegiance IV 501MH Inshore Overhead Jigging Rod is engineered to take on NZ's toughest inshore species, with the enhanced fighting action you need for hard pulling fish. The lightweight high modulus 24T graphite blank lets you feel every subtle tap and makes jigging effortless, while durable Fuji O-Series guides with PENN Dura Guide frames keep line flowing smoothly in harsh saltwater. The ergonomic diamond X wrap shrink tube grip holds secure in all conditions.
