Sealed for the harshest conditions
For serious softbaiting, the Penn Authority 3500 Shimano T-Curve Softbait Combo 6kg 2pce combines the IPX8 sealed PENN Authority 3500 with Shimano's 7ft 2in TCurve, a medium 3-6kg soft bait rod. The fully sealed reel keeps water and sand out, while the light, crisp blank works plastics with precision. A premium inshore pairing.
The Reel
The PENN Authority 3500 IPX8 Spinning Reel sets a new standard for hardcore saltwater spinning. A truly refined premium reel that delivers smooth and powerful performance. Designed for the serious angler who demands a high-end reel that answers to the toughest situations. With an IPX8 sealed body and spool, the Authority takes long runs in heavy seas or the pounding of big surf in its stride. Beefed up by ultra-durable CNC machined stainless steel main and pinion gears, the patented Dura-Drag technology enforces obedience, eliminating hesitation even under the most extreme settings. A 12+1 premium stainless-steel bearing system combines with Leveline slow oscillation to ensure enduring smoothness and precision, behind all that trademark PENN power. The new Authority in saltwater spinning reels is here. Let the battle begin!
The Rod
The iconic Shimano TCurve Medium Spinning Soft Bait Rod is redesigned and upgraded to suit an array of fishing styles and techniques all throughout New Zealand. The guides are premium Fuji Faz Lite K frames, which promote long accurate tangle free casts. Now featuring a sleek grey blank with slightly darker binding to add a modern feel. The butt of the rods features a mix of custom shaped EVA and cork, split grip, butt sections with a premium Fuji reel seat.
