The Reel
The PENN Spinfisher 950 SSM Spinning Reel incorporates many enhancements and upgrades from the first Spinfisher SSM series, including newly designed metal bodies, an infinite anti-reverse system for improved performance and reliability, a techno-balanced rotor, Leveline spool wrap for fishing braided lines and five sealed stainless steel ball bearings. Holding true to PENN tradition, it's constructed to withstand the harsh saltwater environment, and with its large line capacity, powerful drag and durable frame it's the reel of choice for numerous NZ land-based fishos.
The Rod
Light and sharp - that's the easiest way to describe the Daiwa Laguna X 1303HFS Surf Rod. The result of years of research and development, the Laguna X combines high-end blank innovation, design and components to deliver ultimate performance and incredible value for money. Daiwa's carbon design lays the fibres longitudinally with minimal resin, then rolls them at extremely high temperature and pressure for an exceptionally light but super strong blank that folds away under pressure in an even arch for maximum fighting power. Braiding X adds extra power and strength to the lower section of the rod for fighting and casting.
