Paua-friendly knife
Never use sharp objects when removing paua from rocks or reefs. Paua are bleeders, so any cut or injury that causes them to bleed can kill them. You need a specially designed knife that can be slid gently under the paua to break the suction without damaging them. This allows undersized paua to be returned safely to the rock where they were found. A reliable dive knife is also useful for safety, such as freeing yourself if you become entangled in ropes, lines or aquatic plant life.
The Pro-Dive Buddy Chisel Tip Paua Knife is designed specifically for collecting paua, with a blunt chisel tip that can be worked gently beneath the shell. Its 136mm blade is made from 420 stainless steel for corrosion resistance, and the contoured handle offers a comfortable grip. A hard plastic sheath with straps keeps the knife accessible while diving.
