Her first outfit, built to take a beating
The Okuma Revenger 30 Shimano Kidstix Purple Spinning Combo incl Line 6ft 2pc puts the pre-spooled Revenger 30 on the 6ft, 2-piece Shimano Kidstix purple rod rated 2-5kg. The fibreglass blank handles being dragged down the wharf, and the reel's felt drag gives a kid a fair chance when something decent grabs the bait. More time on the water together.
The Reel
The Okuma Revenger 30 Spinning Reel is an upgraded version of one of NZ's most popular reels, the Zeta, with an improved anti-reverse system and a non-corrosive body for years of service. It runs a multi-disc oiled felt drag, a machined aluminium anodised spool, a corrosion-resistant graphite body and stainless steel bail wire, and Okuma's RESII computer balanced rotor keeps it turning smoothly. Best of all it comes pre-spooled with line, so it's feature-packed and ready to fish without the premium price tag.
The Rod
The junior anglers of today are the grown-up anglers of tomorrow, so the Shimano Kidstix Purple Spinning Rod is the perfect way to kick-start your child's fishing career. It's a rod that will catch them fish, but more importantly it's designed specifically to handle the rigours and bumps kids regularly subject it to, with a tough fibreglass blank, ceramic guides, a graphite reel seat and EVA grips. Fishing has become a family pastime, so make sure the kids have a rod of their own.
