Heavy-duty overhead boat combo
For bait fishing over the reef, the Penn Jigmaster 500L Regiment Boat Combo 6ft 15kg matches the take-apart Jigmaster 500L-CP with the 6ft, 10-15kg Regiment Black Ops II OH Heavy. The SLS graphite blank detects bites deep down and has the backbone to haul a big Snapper off the bottom. Built for serious boat fishing.
The Reel
Looking for a well-rounded, reliable boat reel? The PENN Jigmaster 500L-CP Star Drag Boat Reel is the ideal reel for targeting Snapper, Trevally, Gurnard, Kahawai and other delicious table fish. Its quick take-apart frame lets you change spools (and line classes) while on the water - super handy when the fish become line and leader shy and you need to scale down. Plus, it's built tough for saltwater use and holds plenty of line, perfectly suited to boat fishing.
The Rod
Designed with serious fishing in mind, the PENN Regiment Black Ops II OH Heavy Boat Rod combines exceptional sensitivity with massive pulling power for battling hard-fighting species. It's built on PENN's high-performance SLS Construction graphite blank with a dual-layer graphite wrap for superior twist resistance - crucial when you're hooked up to a rampaging Kingfish - and fitted with Fuji K guides with Alconite inserts to decrease wind knots and braid wrap. A lightweight Fuji graphite reel seat, contoured EVA grips and precision-machined aluminium and carbon lock nut fittings make it as robust as it is refined.
