Your new powerhouse setup
The Shimano SpeedMaster LD II 20 Status BW 2-Speed Game Combo is the ultimate setup for anglers who refuse to compromise when the pressure is on. This combo pairs the rock-solid SpeedMaster LD II 20 reel with the rugged Shimano Status Bluewater rod. Whether you're deep-dropping for Hapuku or battling a hard-running Kingfish, the zero-flex design and dual-speed gearing give you the raw cranking power and torque control needed to turn the tide in your favour.
The Reel
Compact lever drag overhead with dual gears and castability — the new Shimano SpeedMaster LD II 20 2-Speed Overhead Reel is a multi-purpose reel that will slot right in to a number of offshore fishing scenarios. The Speedmaster features S Concept Design, a single piece frame, dual speed Hagane Concept gears, 4 SA-RB bearings, generous line capacities — even more so if utilising braided line such as Power Pro — and a drag range to match. On top of all this, it can also be cast, making it an incredibly versatile light/medium tackle reel.
HAGANE Body
Hagane Body means this reel has a high rigidity and zero twist. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the anglers actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.
HAGANE Gear
Hagane Gear is at the very heart of the reel and creates strength and durability. The entire cold-forging process is calculated in minute detail by special 3D design and the result is precision durability.
S Compact Body
Compact body design to reduce weight and allow for better grip and leverage while fighting a fish.
The Rod
The Shimano Status Bluewater Roller Tip Game Rod features a full E-Glass blank with high hoop strength and a powerful, progressive action for demanding offshore fishing. Seaguide guides and an ALPS roller tip provide smooth line control under heavy loads, while the Shimano Channel Lock alloy butt completes the rod. Measuring 5ft 6in with a 24kg line rating, this one-piece rod is suited to deep dropping with electric reels, as well as demanding offshore game fishing.
