The Rod
The Shimano Taipan Heavy Overhead Boat Rod is your go-to workhorse for versatile Kiwi fishing. This rod is built on an integrated graphite blank that provides superior sensitivity, helping you stay in touch with every bite and feel exactly what’s happening at the other end of your line. It’s a dependable, high-performance tool designed to give you that responsive edge over traditional fibreglass rods.
Durability is at the heart of this design, ensuring it holds up against the harsh salt and sun we experience out on the water. Featuring Fuji O-Ring guides, you’ll enjoy smooth, reliable line management even when you're locked in an aggressive battle with a hard-fighting fish. The 6ft 6in length and 10-15kg line rating offer the perfect balance of lifting power and casting control, while the full-length EVA grips provide a comfortable, non-slip hold for those long, action-packed days on the boat. Being a 2-piece construction, it’s also easy to chuck in the car or store in the boat locker. Grab yours today and get sorted for your next big catch.
