Heavy two-speed tackle for deep-drop fishing
The Shimano Talica 50IIA 2-Speed Status BW Deep Drop Combo combines a Talica 50IIA two-speed game reel with a 6ft two-piece deep-drop rod rated for 80-130lb line. The setup is suited to deep-drop fishing with electric reels and heavy offshore tackle. The E-Glass blank and bent butt configuration are suited to the heavy loads associated with deep-drop fishing and electric reel applications.
The Reel
The Shimano Talica 50IIA 2-Speed Game Reel combines a rigid HAGANE body with Infinity Drive for reduced side-load pressure and smoother winding under high loads. X-Protect helps improve water resistance around key internal areas, while the two-speed gearing provides high and low gear ratios for adjusting retrieve speed and winding power during a fight.
The light-line drag cam provides an additional drag curve for fishing lighter monofilament lines, while Cross Carbon Drag and shielded A-RB bearings complete the reel.
The Rod
The Shimano Status Bluewater Bent Butt Electric Deep Drop Rod features a full E-Glass blank with a powerful progressive action for heavy deep-drop fishing. Heavy-duty Seaguide guides support line control under heavy loads, while the Shimano Channel Lock alloy bent butt provides a secure base for electric reel setups.
The 6ft two-piece rod is rated for 80-130lb line and is purpose-built for electric reel applications.
