Heavy tackle for deep-drop fishing
The Shimano Tiagra 80 WA Status BW Roller Tip Combo combines a Tiagra 80 WA two-speed game reel with a 5ft 6in one-piece roller tip game rod rated for 37kg line. The setup is suited to deep-drop fishing with electric reels as well as offshore game fishing.
The one-piece rod features an ALPS roller tip and Shimano Channel Lock alloy butt for a solid setup with heavy tackle.
The Reel
The Shimano Tiagra 80 WA Game Reel features a one-piece machine-cut aluminium frame, heavy-duty stainless steel two-speed gearing and A-RB bearings for increased corrosion resistance. The two-speed mechanism provides high and low gear ratios for adjusting retrieve speed and winding power during a fight, while the click-stop drag quadrant allows precise drag adjustments. The cold-forged aluminium spool and counterbalanced Septon power handle complete the reel.
The Rod
The Shimano Status Bluewater Roller Tip Game Rod features a full E-Glass blank with high hoop strength and a powerful, progressive action for heavy offshore fishing. Seaguide guides and an ALPS roller tip support smooth line control under heavy loads, while the Shimano Channel Lock alloy butt provides a secure connection for the reel.
The 5ft 6in one-piece rod is rated for 37kg line and is suited to deep-drop fishing with electric reels as well as offshore game fishing.
