Two-speed power for deep-drop fishing
The Shimano TLD 50 LRS Triton Offshore Deep Drop Combo combines a TLD 50 LRS two-speed overhead reel with a 5ft 6in two-piece deep-drop rod rated for 50-80lb line. The two-speed reel provides high and low gear ratios for adjusting retrieve speed and winding power during a fight, while the Triton Offshore rod is designed for deep-water and offshore fishing.
The Power Carbon composite blank provides a balance of resilience and fighting capability, while heavy-duty Seaguide guides and a Seaguide roller tip support smooth line management. The Shimano alloy bent butt provides leverage when fishing with heavy tackle.
The Reel
The Shimano TLD 50 LRS 2-Speed Reel features a lightweight graphite frame with a two-speed mechanism that allows the angler to switch between high and low gear ratios during a fight. The 3.5:1 high gear provides faster line recovery, while the 1.4:1 low gear provides additional winding power when extra torque is required.
The LRS (Long Range Special) drag provides up to 19kg of drag pressure for heavy offshore fishing. The reel is also suited to trolling live bait and game lures, as well as targeting species such as kingfish, bluenose, hapuka and bass.
The Rod
The Shimano Triton Offshore Electric Deep Drop Rod is a 5ft 6in two-piece rod designed for deep-water and offshore fishing. Its Power Carbon composite blank provides a balance of resilience and fighting capability, while heavy-duty Seaguide guides and a Seaguide roller tip support smooth line management.
The Shimano alloy bent butt provides leverage when fishing with heavy tackle. The rod is rated for 50-80lb line.
