Smooth, controlled casting for freshwater fishing
The Shimano Nexave 2500HG FJ Stream Flight Light Spin Combo is the perfect setup for anglers who demand accuracy and feel when targeting Trout in our backcountry streams, canals or fast-flowing rivers. By pairing the redesigned Nexave FJ reel with the crisp, ultra-lightweight 30-ton carbon blank of the Stream Flight rod, you get a combo that puts your lure exactly where you want it, every single time. It’s lightweight, balanced and ready for your next adventure.
The Reel
The Shimano Nexave 2500HG FJ Spinning Reel is part of Shimano’s redesigned Nexave FJ range, combining smooth operation, practical line management and casting comfort in a versatile spinning reel. Its 2500 size and 6.2:1 gear ratio make it well suited to freshwater and light tackle applications.
Shimano technologies help refine the reel's performance across different fishing situations. The Anti-Twist Fin helps control line slack, while Propulsion uses a specially shaped spool ring to help reduce line trouble and support longer casting performance. SilentDrive focuses on reducing unnecessary noise and vibration for smoother reel operation.
The G-Free Body shifts the reel's centre of gravity closer to the rod and angler's hand, helping reduce fatigue and improve casting comfort during longer sessions.
Anti-Twist Fin
Shimano designed the Anti-Twist Fin for enhanced line management resulting in more effective fishing. The flexible polymer fin is installed near the line roller. This maintains line tension to reduce sagging and prevents the line from falling off the bottom of the spool or wrapping around the spool in an uneven manner.
G-Free Body
G-Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel's center of gravity closer to the rod. By moving the center of gravity closer to the angler’s hand, the G-Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
Propulsion
The spool has a special spool ring shape. This creates a rectifying effect on the line and realizes both suppression of line trouble and long casting performance.
SilentDrive
SilentDrive technology benefits from a total redesign of all functional parts focused on the drive gear, worm shaft and other parts. The goal: remove unnecessary noise and vibration. In doing so, the overall tolerances are improved to a micron level, ultimately creating an overall quieter and smoother reel operation.
The Rod
Built from the ground up to set a new standard in freshwater lure rods, the Shimano Stream Flight Light Spin Freshwater Rod delivers unmatched casting precision and feel; putting your lure exactly where you want it, every time. Crafted with an ultra-lightweight, crisp 30-ton carbon blank and fitted with premium components including V-Mark Titanium guides, Shimano reel seats, and classic cork grips, this rod offers incredible performance and value.
With purpose-tuned actions for every style of Trout fishing - whether you're hiking into remote backcountry streams, casting long into fast-flowing rivers, egg rolling in the canals, or jigging deep lakes - there’s a Shimano Stream Flight Freshwater Rod ready for the job. Engineered for accuracy. Designed for adventure.
