Power and control for offshore jigging
The Shimano Stella SW D 10000 PGD Game Type J S566 Spin Combo pairs the Stella SW D 10000 PGD spinning reel with the 5ft 6in Game Type J jigging rod and Shimano Ocea 8 multicolour PE5 braid. With a reel maximum drag of 25kg and a one-piece rod rated for jigs up to 300g, this combo is suited to offshore jigging.
The Reel
The Shimano Stella SW D 10000 PGD Spinning Reel combines cold-forged HAGANE Gear with InfinityXross technology to distribute load across the gear teeth for improved durability. InfinityDrive supports winding power, while XX Tough Drag and HeatSink Drag technologies are designed to improve drag durability and manage heat under heavy loads.
InfinityLoop supports an even line lay for improved casting performance, while the Anti-Twist Fin helps manage line during winding. X-Protect and X-Shield provide protection against water intrusion, and SilentDrive supports smooth, quiet reel operation.
The Rod
The Shimano Game Type J S566 Jig Spin Rod is a one-piece jigging rod built around a high-carbon blank featuring Spiral X and Hi-Power X construction for strength and reduced blank twist. Fuji K-series SiC guides on stainless steel frames support line management, while the Shimano reel seat and custom-shaped EVA grips complete the setup.
Rated for PE6 line and jigs up to 300g, the 5ft 6in rod is suited to working heavier jigs offshore.
The Line
The Shimano Ocea 8 Jigging Braid Multicolour is a Japanese-made eight-strand braid designed for jigging. Its Tough Cross construction and X-Filament technology contribute to its line construction, while the multicolour pattern changes every 10m to help anglers track line depth during the retrieve. This combo includes a 400m spool of PE5 braid rated at 89lb.
