The Shimano Corvalus 400 Legalis Boat Combo 7ft 10kg puts the level wind Corvalus 400 on Daiwa's Legalis 701HFB overhead rod. A 7ft, 1-piece heavy action stick rated 6-10kg, built on a Braiding X blank - a crisp, responsive light tackle outfit for straylining and working baits from the boat.
The Reel
The Shimano Corvalus 400 is perfectly suited for everything from slow jigging and soft baiting for Snapper, Blue Cod and Trevally all the way through to bait fishing or trolling for Skipjack Tuna. Constructed from a die-cast aluminium frame, side plates and spool, the Corvalus boasts 3 A-RB bearings along with a stainless steel roller bearing. The non-disengaging level wind system, specific to the 400 model, makes laying line onto the reel a piece of cake, while the Variable Brake System (VBS) uses centrifugal force to control the spool for a smoother, tangle-free cast. Team it up with braid and this versatile little reel will see you through, no matter what your fishing needs are.
The Rod
The Daiwa Legalis Overhead Boat Rod brings high-end blank innovation together with value driven componentry to offer a light tackle rod that punches well above its weight. Highly responsive, the Legalis' crisp action is achieved through a lightweight graphite material combined with Braiding X, which increases wall strength and reduces blank twist - allowing a thinner blank and a lighter, more dynamic rod. Quality Fuji stainless steel Concept O guides provide reliable casting performance and effective line management, while a Daiwa Surround Hold reel seat maximises balance and sensitivity and high-density EVA split grips bring in-hand comfort and control.
