Long casts and big pulling power
For long casts over the reef, the Shimano Miravel 4000XG Slammer Heavy Duty Soft Bait Combo 7ft 9inc 20lb matches the light Miravel 4000 XG with PENN's 7ft 9in Slammer 791M rated PE1-2. The extra length launches 10-50g softbaits a long way, and the Slammer blank has plenty of backbone. Made for the open grounds.
The Reel
Building on the foundations of Nasci FC, the new Shimano Miravel 4000 XG Spinning Reel utilises a CI4+ body and sideplate for significant weight reductions. Cold-forged HAGANE Gear reel technology provides unparalleled gear durability. With premium performance at the forefront of design, Miravel features Silent Drive - the same technology found in Shimano's flagship Stella range. This technology translates into smoother operation due to finer gear tolerances, less vibration and improved longevity. Purpose-built for finesse fishing in both freshwater and inshore saltwater environments, Shimano Miravel 4000 XG Spinning Reel is backed by CoreProtect water repellent technology which increases durability and water resistance without creating a heavy winding feeling. Additionally, a screw in handle design has been adopted for added strength and convenience.
The Rod
Representing the next generation of high-performance sportfishing rods, the PENN Slammer 791M Spinning Soft Bait Rod is powerful, lightweight, and durable. Equipped with tangle-free Fuji K frame guides containing SiC inserts, Fuji reel seat, and contoured high-density EVA grips for a technical, sensitive, and premium finish. A solid rod for softbaiting. The Slammer Rod features PENN's RCB2 blank, consisting of a rolled composite core and outer layers of longitudinal glass to provide a lightweight, thin, and parabolic blank that flexes from grip to tip, distributing weight for extra durability. This parabolic blank offers sought-after durability, balance, and recoil so you can easily work lures in areas ranging from reef structures to suspended schools of fish in both shallow and deep-water environments.
