A longer setup for inshore lure fishing
The Shimano Nexave 4000HG FJ Catana Medium Heavy Spinning Combo pairs a 4000-size spinning reel with a 7ft 6in two-piece Medium Heavy rod rated for 4-8kg line and 7-28g lures. The Catana features a 24T carbon blank with forward-facing Seaguide aluminium oxide guides, while the Nexave 4000HG FJ offers smooth operation, a 5.8:1 gear ratio and 11kg maximum drag.
The longer two-piece setup is suited to casting and working soft baits, small metal lures and jigs inshore.
The Reel
The Shimano Nexave 4000HG FJ Spinning Reel combines Anti-Twist Fin, Propulsion and SilentDrive technologies for controlled line management and smooth reel operation. G-Free Body shifts the centre of gravity closer to the rod and angler’s hand for a comfortable casting feel.
The Rod
The Shimano Catana Medium Heavy Spinning Rod is a 7ft 6in two-piece rod suited to saltwater inshore lure fishing. Its 24T carbon blank provides a responsive feel, while the Medium Heavy rating suits casting soft baits, small metal lures and jigs.
Forward-facing Seaguide aluminium oxide guides support smooth line management during casting, while the Shimano reel seat and custom-shaped full-length EVA grips provide a comfortable hold during lure work.
