Strength, lightness and optimal casting performance
The lightweight and highly manoeuvrable Shimano Metanium MGL150 HGB Baitcaster Reel is a technical all-rounder for a wide range of applications. Equipped with a CORESOLID BODY integrated with magnesium and MGL SPOOL III, which delivers a light start-up and excellent extension. The lure is easy to handle and adaptable to tough fishing conditions, and can be used technically for reeling, shooting and light rigging. Furthermore, while maintaining the same lightweight dead weight, it's equipped with ultra-high-strength brass drive gears to further polish its toughness.
MicroModule
The MicroModule Gear technology creates a smooth retrieve by utilising smaller teeth to increase the number of contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear.
X-Ship
X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This increased support allows the gears to stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. X-Ship technology also eliminates the friction between the spool shaft and gear to further benefit anglers with enhanced casting performance and casting distance of lighter lures.
HAGANE Body
The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing on the reel while fighting a fish. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.
MGL Spool III
MGL Spool III is the low inertia spool that designed with thin spool wall keeping the durability. This contributes to improve the casting performance, quick response, long distance, cast feeling and castabillity.
CoreSolid Body
CoreSolid Body integrates the B-Side Plate, levelwind guard and frame into a solid one-piece construction. This delivers a rigid feeling.
SilentTune
By applying slight pressure to the bearing holding the spool, SilentTune reduces the vibration of the bearing during high-speed rotation. This improves the quietness while casting and the rise of the spool rotation becomes even smoother.
SVS Infinity
SVS Infinity, provides easy-to-manage, consistent spool control and brake force. With brake weights that use inner friction against the raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls spool speed for precision casting. The external adjustment knob provides for quick, precise adjustments when anglers need to adjust to the conditions or when they switch baits.
S3D
S3D SPOOL leads to significantly reduced spool vibration. This creates a smooth feeling when casting.
Super Free Spool
SUPER FREE SPOOL reduces friction on the spool shaft during the cast and enhances casting performance.
