Heavy-duty, battle-ready weapon
The Shimano Spheros SWA 20000PG Blackout Land Based Game Spin Combo is the ultimate setup for anglers who demand serious stopping power when targeting trophy fish from the bricks or via drone. This powerhouse combo pairs the legendary reliability of the Shimano Spheros SWA 20000PG with the innovative, high-performance Blackout Rod, creating a lethal combination that turns big Kingfish away from the reef with ease. Whether you're dealing with heavy swell or high-stakes battles, this gear is built to take the punishment of the our harsh coastline. This combo is a must-have for the serious land-based hunter
The Reel
The new Shimano Spheros SWA 20000PG Spinning Reel offers even more angler confidence than ever before. The features and IPX8 sealed body are due to the combination of X-Protect and X-Shield, whilst the Infinity Drive produces effortless handle rotation under heavy drags. The 20000PG model packing a massive 18kg drag with a huge line capacity of 400m of PE8 can handle even the biggest fish in NZ waters.
Infinity Drive
With the Infinity Drive, the pinion gear inner does not make contact with the main shaft, as high-sliding bushing supports the main shaft and sliding resistance is reduced. In addition to this, a special skidding coating on the main shaft helps to further reduce sliding resistance. Infinity Drive cuts handle rotation torque by about 30% in comparison to the conventional system, and makes the reel more powerful. This enables anglers to wind more aggressively, even under heavy load.
Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings' rotation.
HAGANE Body
Hagane Body means this reel has a high rigidity and zero twist. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing. The result transforms the anglers' actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.
HAGANE Gear
Hagane Gear is at the very heart of the reel and creates strength and durability. The entire cold-forging process is calculated in minute detail by special 3D design and the result is precision durability.
X-Protect
By combining water repellent coating and specially designed, water channelling labyrinth construction, X-Protect provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear and rotor rotation.
X-Ship
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with the S-ARB bearings and integrating bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect rotation even under heavy loads.
AR-C Spool Management System
Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new AR-C spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction.
The Rod
The Shimano Blackout Spinning Land Based Game / Drone Rod is engineered for the angler who demands uncompromising strength when targeting trophy fish from the rocks or via drone. Built with Shimano's innovative T45 carbon blank technology, this rod uses a unique multi-directional graphite weave to provide incredible lifting power and structural integrity. Despite its heavy-duty 50-80lb rating, the blank remains remarkably lightweight and sensitive, ensuring you feel every movement while maintaining the grunt needed to turn a big Kingfish away from the reef.
This rod is also packed with premium components designed to handle our harsh coastal environment. High-quality Fuji Alconite guides ensure smooth heat dissipation, which is essential when running heavy braided lines, while the secure, soft-touch Fuji reel seat keeps your reel locked tight during intense battles. The addition of custom Winn grips provides superior wet-weather traction and helps reduce hand fatigue during long, drawn-out fights. Finished in a glare-reducing matte black to avoid spooking fish in clear water, the Shimano Blackout Spinning Land Based Game / Drone Rod is a must-have tool for serious land-based hunters looking to level up their game. Grab yours today and get sorted for your next mission.
