Slow pitch jigging power
A 6ft one-piece slow pitch jigging outfit, the Shimano Torium 16HG Saltist-X Slow Pitch Jigging Combo 6ft 50lb pairs the Torium 16A HG overhead reel with a Daiwa Saltist-X rod rated to PE3-4. It carries the pedigree that has made the Saltist name famous.
The Reel
The Shimano Torium 16A HG Overhead Reel is a solidly built, high-performance live bait, bottom fishing and jigging reel with excellent casting ability when throwing lures and jigs at top-water fish. Packed with features like Super Stopper, Cross Carbon Drag, A-RB (Anti-Rust Bearings) and High Efficiency Gearing (HEG), the Torium has it where it counts. The Super Stopper anti-reverse uses a one-way stainless steel roller bearing that eliminates back-play for instant hook setting power, while the A-RB bearings last at least 10 times longer than standard stainless steel ball bearings in high salinity environments.
The Rod
Rigorously designed and tested, the Daiwa Saltist-X 60-3/4B OH Slow Jigging Rod has it all. It features HVF graphite, Daiwa's precise resin controlled, unidirectional graphite fibre blank technology, giving a blank with maximum graphite density that is incredibly durable, lightweight and sensitive, yet immensely powerful and strong. Braiding X technology strengthens the blank wall to eliminate twist and distortion, increasing strength and lifting power, while Fuji Fazlite Anti-Tangle K-Series guides, EVA grips, Fuji reel seats and butt caps round out the quality components.
