Slow jigging with a spin reel
For slow jigging on a spin setup, the Shimano Miravel 4000XG X Slider Slow Jig Combo 20lb combines the Miravel 4000 XG with the 6ft 6in, 4-8kg Ocean Angler Slider Spin II. The 2-piece rod gives jigs a lively action, and the reel's high gear picks up slack fast. A light, responsive way to jig.
The Reel
Building on the foundations of Nasci FC, the new Shimano Miravel 4000 XG Spinning Reel utilises a CI4+ body and sideplate for significant weight reductions. Cold-forged HAGANE Gear reel technology provides unparalleled gear durability. With premium performance at the forefront of design, Miravel features Silent Drive - the same technology found in Shimano's flagship Stella range. This technology translates into smoother operation due to finer gear tolerances, less vibration and improved longevity. Purpose-built for finesse fishing in both freshwater and inshore saltwater environments, Shimano Miravel 4000 XG Spinning Reel is backed by CoreProtect water repellent technology which increases durability and water resistance without creating a heavy winding feeling. Additionally, a screw in handle design has been adopted for added strength and convenience.
The Rod
Get ready to redefine your slow jigging game. The Ocean Angler Slider Spin II Slow Jig Rod is the result of over 12 months of intense design and testing by Ocean Angler's legend Paul Senior and Marine Deals' own Antonio Guzzo. Meticulously crafted to give you the edge in local conditions, this collaboration rod is your secret weapon for success with Sliders and Jitterbugs. Made from top-tier components, the Ocean Angler Slider Spin II Slow Jig Rod is built tough for the challenging NZ saltwater environment. Its remarkable sensitivity ensures you'll feel every subtle twitch and bite, giving you the edge when those wary fish are on the chew. Don't let its finesse fool you; this rod boasts a strong fish-fighting backbone, providing the power to turn and land those prized Snapper, Kahawai, or Gurnard.
