Stay ahead of the bite
The Shimano Torium Type J 1500HGA Grappler Type J Full Bend Overhead Combo is your ultimate companion for conquering the blue water. Built for serious slow jigging, this combo pairs the rock-solid, flex-free HAGANE body of the Torium 1500HGA with the incredible sensitivity and strength of the Grappler Type J full-bend rod. Whether you're chasing Snapper or hard-fighting Kingfish, this setup is matched to take the strain out of the fight, allowing you to focus on the catch.
The Reel
Level up your jigging game with lightning-fast hooksets and unstoppable cranking power. The Shimano Torium Type J 1500HGA Jigging Reel is engineered to give you the upper hand when you’re hunting trophy fish. Built with a rock-solid HAGANE Body, this reel eliminates flex so you can put every ounce of effort into your cranking power, while the S-Compact design shrinks the side plate by 25% for a comfortable, ergonomic palm-fit that keeps you in total control during a long session on the water. It's also kitted out with X-Protect technology to shield your gears from saltwater spray, ensuring your gear stays smooth and reliable for seasons to come.
The Shimano Torium Type J 1500HGA Jigging Reel introduces two smart upgrades for better control and faster hooksets. The Spool Lock feature prevents the spool from rotating, allowing you to apply torque to free snags without risking internal damage to the reel. With a turn of the handle, the auto-engage clutch instantly engages the reel from free spool for those subtle strikes on the drop. It's that easy—just hook and haul.
The Rod
The Shimano Grappler Type J Full Bend B604 OH Jigging Rod is built to change the way you tackle the big ones. Whether you're chasing hard-fighting Kingfish or explosive Tuna, this rod is engineered to do the heavy lifting for you. Featuring a TAFTEC Infinity solid carbon core wrapped in a lightweight hybrid carbon sheet, it offers incredible strength and sensitivity without the bulk, making it a dream to use during long days out on the water.
Designed specifically to handle the "bend and catch" jigging style, the full-bend action reduces angler fatigue by making it easy to keep the rod in a stable, upright position. This is a game-changer when you're battling a surging fish on a rocking boat. Plus, the flat-style rear grip is perfectly shaped for bracing against your elbow, giving you the control and leverage needed to turn the head of a trophy fish. If you want a setup that balances serious stopping power with refined handling, grab the Shimano Grappler Type J Full Bend B604 OH Jigging Rod and get sorted for your next offshore trip.
