Stay ahead of the bite
The Shimano Curado 200HG Dialuna Inshore Baitcasting Combo is your ultimate weapon for targeting trophy fish in demanding conditions. By pairing the legendary durability of the Curado 200HG reel with the elite sensitivity of the Dialuna rod, you get a setup that balances lightweight handling with the raw stopping power needed to haul fish away from structure. Whether you're throwing big jigs or heavy swimbaits, this combo is engineered to help you stay connected, cast further, and fight harder.
The Reel
Forged from over 30 years of Curado performance and durability, the Shimano Curado 23 200HG Baitcaster Reel inherits the latest Shimano reel technologies to provide enhanced castability with heavier lines and lures in any power fishing situation.
Expanded line capacity comes without compromise as the Curado now leverages Shimano's MagnumLite (MGL) Spool III to reduce start-up inertia for unparalleled casting performance, especially when targeting trophies with large paddle-tail swimbaits, big jigs, deep-diving cranks, oversized frogs, Carolina rigs or umbrella rigs. The addition of SilentTune technology improves spool quietness during casts. SVS Infinity technology provides precision casting performance with easy-to-manage and consistent spool control and brake force adjustments when faced with demanding conditions or switching between baits. The aluminum HAGANE Body provides added rigidity to increase cranking power and overall reeling efficiency, while MicroModule Gear, Cross Carbon Drag and X-Ship deliver the tournament-tested smoothness, durability, and versatility for which the Curado family is known.
Expanding on Curado's reputation as a do-everything reel, Shimano redesigned and refined the versatile Shimano Curado 23 200HG Baitcaster Reel to be all about big casts on big line with big baits for one thing — big fish.
The Rod
The Shimano Dialuna Inshore Medium Baitcasting Rod is built for modern inshore fishing, combining lightweight handling with the crisp response and structural strength needed for lure fishing. Its Spiral X and Hi-Power X construction helps improve blank strength and torsional rigidity while maintaining a responsive feel.
The Carbon Monocoque rear grip reduces weight and increases vibration transmission, helping you stay connected to your lure and detect subtle changes during the retrieve. With a 6ft 10in length, 8-38g lure rating and PE 1-3 line rating, this two-piece baitcast rod is suited to a range of inshore lure applications.
Spiral X
Through its exclusive lightweight structure, Shimano's patented Spiral X construction enhances catching power for anglers. Spiral X construction consists of three layers: a middle layer of vertical fibers as well as inner and outer layers, both comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions.
By using this carbon tape in place of a conventional horizontal fiber sheet, Spiral X achieves enhanced compression rigidity and increased torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This in turn facilitates instant power transmission for precise casting and fish fighting.
Carbon Monocoque
Carbon Monocoque grip is a carbon-moulded grip that is lightweight with high sensitivity, transferring even the smallest vibration to an angler’s hand. The Carbon Monocoque Grip increases sensitivity by 30% compared to traditional rod handles and utilizes a hollow structure that eliminates unnecessary parts of the rear grip to improve weight reduction and vibration transmission.
Hi-Power X
Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of "X" shapes on the rod blank's outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.
CI4+
CI4 is a Shimano original material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material and is 2.5x more rigid than its predecessor. While improving lightness and rigidity, reel bodies, rotors and reel seats built with CI4+ are further reduced in size and weight.
