Upgrade your light tackle game
The Shimano Nexave 2500HG FJ Aquatip Graphite Spin Combo is your ultimate companion for tackling a variety of fishing scenarios. By pairing the smooth, high-tech Nexave FJ reel with the legendary, hard-wearing Aquatip graphite rod, this setup offers an exceptional balance of sensitivity and power that's ready for anything from freshwater streams to light saltwater action.
The Reel
The Shimano Nexave 2500HG FJ Spinning Reel is part of Shimano’s redesigned Nexave FJ range, combining smooth operation, practical line management and casting comfort in a versatile spinning reel. Its 2500 size and 6.2:1 gear ratio make it well suited to freshwater and light tackle applications.
Shimano technologies help refine the reel's performance across different fishing situations. The Anti-Twist Fin helps control line slack, while Propulsion uses a specially shaped spool ring to help reduce line trouble and support longer casting performance. SilentDrive focuses on reducing unnecessary noise and vibration for smoother reel operation.
The G-Free Body shifts the reel's centre of gravity closer to the rod and angler's hand, helping reduce fatigue and improve casting comfort during longer sessions.
Anti-Twist Fin
Shimano designed the Anti-Twist Fin for enhanced line management resulting in more effective fishing. The flexible polymer fin is installed near the line roller. This maintains line tension to reduce sagging and prevents the line from falling off the bottom of the spool or wrapping around the spool in an uneven manner.
G-Free Body
G-Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel's center of gravity closer to the rod. By moving the center of gravity closer to the angler’s hand, the G-Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
Propulsion
The spool has a special spool ring shape. This creates a rectifying effect on the line and realizes both suppression of line trouble and long casting performance.
SilentDrive
SilentDrive technology benefits from a total redesign of all functional parts focused on the drive gear, worm shaft and other parts. The goal: remove unnecessary noise and vibration. In doing so, the overall tolerances are improved to a micron level, ultimately creating an overall quieter and smoother reel operation.
The Rod
The Shimano 25 Aquatip Graphite Spin Rod continues the legacy as a true Kiwi fishing favourite, renowned as Shimano's most reliable beginner series. Offering exceptional value, this rod is built tough to handle a wide range of New Zealand fishing scenarios. This graphite blank model is further refined with lightweight 24-ton carbon construction, improving performance without compromising strength.
Upgraded to make Aquatip more durable than ever before, this rod now features forward-facing Zirconia guides for butter-smooth, trouble-free line management and tangle-free casting. The graphite reel seat keeps your reel securely locked in, no matter how hard you're fighting, while the quality EVA grips provide lasting comfort and a secure hold in all weather, from sunny days to chilly mornings. Get sorted for your next adventure with a rod that truly delivers performance without breaking the bank. Grab yours today!
