A softbait combo that punches above its weight
Ready to fish straight away, the Shimano Nexave C3000HG Squadron Softbait Spinning Combo incl Line 7ft 2in 10-30lb joins the high-speed Nexave C3000HG, spooled with 8lb line, and PENN's 7ft 2in Squadron soft bait rod. The 6.2:1 gear ratio picks up slack fast for softbaiting, and the forgiving blank keeps hooked fish pinned. A handy setup for the inshore grounds.
The Reel
The Shimano Nexave C3000HG FI Spinning Reel combines great value with attractive, modern black and blue graphics, making it an excellent starter or improver reel for a wide range of fishing. Its G-Free Body - the same design used on much higher-priced Shimano reels - moves the centre of gravity closer to the rod for better balance and less fatigue. 3 shielded stainless steel ball bearings plus a roller bearing keep it running smoothly under pressure, and the AR-C spool suits both mono and braid, letting line leave the spool in smaller coils for longer, more accurate casts.
The Rod
The PENN Squadron Spinning Soft Bait Rod is a durable and versatile inshore rod made from a lightweight graphite composite blank, with modified actions for a more parabolic and forgiving bend. Its virtually indestructible one-piece stainless steel Dura-Guides offer a traditional style and feel.
