A longer setup for inshore lure fishing
The Shimano Nasci 4000 XG FD Catana Medium Heavy Spinning Combo pairs a 4000-size spinning reel with a 7ft 6in Medium Heavy rod rated for 4-8kg line and 7-28g lures. The Catana features a 24T carbon blank for a responsive feel, while the Nasci 4000 XG FD offers smooth winding, a fast 6.2:1 gear ratio and 11kg of maximum drag.
The longer two-piece setup is suited to casting and working soft baits, small metal lures and jigs inshore, with full-length EVA grips providing a comfortable hold during lure work.
The Reel
The Shimano Nasci 4000 XG FD Spinning Reel combines HAGANE Gear, X-Ship, InfinityDrive and SilentDrive for smooth winding and efficient power transmission. CoreProtect helps protect the reel from water penetration, while the G-Free Body shifts the centre of gravity closer to the rod. The AR-C Spool supports controlled casting, and Cross Carbon Drag provides smooth drag performance.
The Rod
The Shimano Catana Medium Heavy Spinning Rod is a 7ft 6in two-piece rod suited to saltwater inshore lure fishing. Its 24T carbon blank provides a responsive feel, while the Medium Heavy rating offers a versatile option for casting soft baits, small metal lures and jigs.
Forward-facing Seaguide aluminium oxide guides support smooth line management during casting, while the Shimano reel seat and custom-shaped full-length EVA grips provide a comfortable hold during lure work.
