A compact setup for slow jigging
The Shimano Nasci C5000 XG FD Descent Type J Spinning Slow Jig Combo pairs a 5000-size spinning reel with a 5ft 8in slow jigging rod rated for PE3 line and lures up to 200g. The Descent Type J features a T24 solid carbon blank for strength during heavier jigging, while the Nasci C5000 XG FD offers smooth winding, a fast 6.2:1 gear ratio and 11kg of maximum drag. The one-piece setup is suited to working slow pitch jigs, octa jigs and other heavier jig presentations.
The Reel
The Shimano Nasci C5000 XG FD Spinning Reel combines HAGANE Gear, X-Ship, InfinityDrive and SilentDrive for smooth winding and efficient power transmission. CoreProtect helps protect the reel from water penetration, while the G-Free Body shifts the centre of gravity closer to the rod. The AR-C Spool supports controlled casting, and Cross Carbon Drag provides smooth drag performance.
The Rod
The Shimano Descent Type J Spinning Slow Jig Rod features a T24 solid carbon blank with a thin profile for slow jigging applications. Sea Guide SS316 guides and a Shimano custom carbon / split grip EVA butt assembly complete the rod, providing a practical setup for working heavier jigs.
