The Reel
Upgraded for increased power and enhanced durability, the new Shimano Stella SW 8000 HG Spinning Reel represents the pinnacle of innovation for Shimano reel technology and fish-fighting performance. And what's more the rotor and spool are smaller than most size 8000 reels - making it lighter and easier to handle while jigging.
Infinity Drive
This model is equipped with an infinity drive structure that uses a special low-friction bush to reduce the sliding resistance of the main shaft. A special surface treatment has been applied to the main shaft itself, further reducing friction. The rotation torque has been reduced by about 30% compared to the conventional model, resulting in a powerful reel that can be actively wound up even under heavy loads.
X-Protect
The Shimano Stella SW has the X protect structure on the line roller in addition to the stopper bearing, further improving the waterproof performance.
The Rod
The TiCA Tuna Star 802 Spinning Popper / Stick Bait Rod is perfect for casting poppers and stick baits to marauding Kingfish in local waters. The 2.4m (8ft) blank is built light and strong to ease the pain of all day casting sessions, and has the power to subdue our bigger size NZ kingfish. The heavy walled slimline blank joins inside the handle to maintain the perfect action of the rod and is suitable for casting lures in the 50g to 190g weight range. The rod is finished with quality Fuji tangle free K series guides, graphite reel seat and ergonomically shaped slimline EVA foam grips.
