A strayliner with real grunt
Purpose-built for the boat, the Shimano Torium 16HG Allegiance Boat / Strayline Combo 7ft 15kg pairs Shimano's Torium 16A HG star drag with PENN's 7ft, 10-15kg Allegiance III 702H strayline rod. The high-speed retrieve keeps up with fast-running fish, and the 2-piece graphite blank casts unweighted baits away from the boat with ease. A strayline setup that won't let you down.
The Reel
The Shimano Torium 16A HG Overhead Reel is a solidly built, high-performance live bait, bottom fishing and jigging reel with excellent casting ability when throwing lures and jigs at top-water fish. Packed with features like Super Stopper, Cross Carbon Drag, A-RB (Anti-Rust Bearings) and High Efficiency Gearing (HEG), the Torium has it where it counts. Super Stopper anti-reverse uses a one-way stainless steel roller bearing that eliminates back-play. This provides the angler with instant hook setting power. These stainless steel ball bearings are specially treated to drastically increase the corrosion resistance of the bearing. These bearings will last at least 10 times longer than standard stainless steel ball bearings in high salinity environments. HEG consists of not only the gears, but also the frame, set plate, and handle-side side plate.
The Rod
The new PENN Allegiance III 702H Overhead Strayline Rod is updated with fresh cosmetics and ready to take on any challenge. This performance casting tool utilises a high modulus graphite blank and Fuji O-Series guides for superior casting and great value.
