A versatile setup for soft bait fishing
The Shimano Nexave 4000HG FJ Divergex Medium Heavy Soft Bait Spin Combo pairs a 4000-size spinning reel with a 7ft 6in two-piece Medium Heavy rod rated for 4-8kg line and 7-28g lures. The Divergex features a 24T carbon blank with Seaguide Zirconium guides, while the Nexave 4000HG FJ offers smooth operation, a 5.8:1 gear ratio and 11kg maximum drag.
The setup includes 150m of 15lb Shimano Kairiki SX8 braid and is suited to casting and working soft baits and other inshore lures.
The Reel
The Shimano Nexave 4000HG FJ Spinning Reel combines Anti-Twist Fin, Propulsion and SilentDrive technologies for controlled line management and smooth reel operation. G-Free Body shifts the centre of gravity closer to the rod and angler’s hand for a comfortable casting feel.
The Rod
The Shimano Divergex Medium Heavy Soft Bait Spin Rod is a 7ft 6in two-piece rod suited to soft bait fishing and other inshore lure applications. Its 24T carbon blank is paired with Seaguide Zirconium guides and a Shimano custom reel seat, while the split EVA butt assembly provides a comfortable hold during casting and lure work.
The Line
The Shimano Kairiki SX8 Braid is an eight-strand JDM PE braid with a smooth finish designed to reduce friction through the rod guides during casting. Its reduced stretch supports sensitivity, while Shimano Enhanced Body Treatment (S-EBT) enhances abrasion resistance. This combo includes 150m of 15lb Mantis Green braid.
