A matched setup for heavier topwater casting
The Shimano Socorro 10000 SW and Extraction Topwater Spinning Combo brings together a PE6-8 topwater rod, 10000-size spinning reel and 50lb braid in one complete setup. The Extraction rod handles lures up to 150g, while the Socorro 10000 SW features a 12kg maximum drag and 102cm line retrieve per crank. The combo also includes 300m of Shimano Kairiki SX8 8-strand braid in Mantis Green, giving you the line capacity and tackle to fish larger topwater lures.
The Reel
The Shimano Socorro 10000 SW Spinning Reel features Shimano's Propulsion Line Management System and Waterproof Drag, along with Dyna-Balance and Varispeed Oscillation for smooth operation and line management. Its 10000 size, 12kg maximum drag and 102cm retrieve per crank make it well suited to heavier topwater tackle.
The Rod
The Shimano Extraction Topwater Spinning Rod features T45 graphite blank construction and Fuji K-series tangle-free guides with SiC inserts designed to reduce tangles and improve casting performance. The silicon carbide inserts minimise friction for smooth line flow when casting.
The Line
The Shimano Kairiki SX8 Braid is an eight-strand Japanese-made PE braid with a smooth finish that reduces friction through the rod guides during casting. Its low-stretch construction supports sensitivity, while Shimano Enhanced Body Treatment (S-EBT) enhances abrasion resistance. This combo includes the 50lb Mantis Green version on a 300m spool.
