How to Determine what trailer winch you need:
For standard pulling applications, take maximum weight of pulled object and divide by 2. For example, maximum weight of boat, including motor, fuel, and gear is 6,400 lbs we would divide that by 2 and would come up with 3,200 lbs. Therefore we would use a Fulton F2 2-Speed Trailer Winch that is rated up to 3,200 lbs. If used on a boat that will be pulled through shallow water or a steep launch, we would divide maximum weight by 1.5 instead of 2.
