The Reel
The new and improved Shimano Dendou Maru Plays 4000 Electric Reel is now designed with HAGANE BODY technology meaning more rigid tolerances and a stronger frame that reduces twist under load. The Plays 4000 also features the Heat Free System that greatly reduces heat under load and keeps the reel performing. The large Fine Dot LCD screen improves readability in most light conditions. Precision S-ARB bearings and Super Free Spool technology to reduce friction and heat when dropping baits in to the benthos.

HAGANE Body
HAGANE Body means this reel has a high rigidity and zero twist. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the anglers actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.

Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings' rotation.

Super Free
The Super Free bearing-supported pinion gear system (SF) was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft, creating friction and limiting the length of the cast. With SF, the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing and when the clutch is disengaged the pinion hear and spool shaft are kept in precise alignment. The result is zero friction on the spool shaft for increased freespool.

The Rod
The Shimano Deep Chaser Overhead Deepwater Rod has been developed to suit the new mid-sized Shimano Dendou-Maru Power assisted reels like the Shimano Plays 1000 and ForceMaster 400 and 3000 and also baitcast and overhead reels like the Shimano Tranx, Trinidad and Torium. Spiral X Blanks, Fuji SIC Guides and a Shimano reel seat combine to create a light-in-the-hand yet tough rod build designed to be a pleasure to use all day whilst maintaining an optimum working curve for those anglers taking on species that inhabit deeper environments.
