The Reel
The Shimano Saragosa 25000SW Spinning Reel is a gutsy and durable saltwater reel that's jam-packed with features found on top-of-the-line Shimano reels. Encased in a hybrid aluminium and XT7 graphite body with an XGT7 rotor, X-Ship bearing supported pinion gear and larger drive gear delivers remarkable cranking power with less effort and a smoother feel. X-Shield and X-Protect keep salt water out of key areas, whilst the cross carbon drag is also waterproof.

A one-piece bail arm assembly designed to smoothly guide line to the roller, Shimano's Cam Oscillation system combines with the AR-C spool to ensure that braided line lays neatly on the retrieve without creating dips or troughs and leaves the spool with less resistance when casting for distance and accuracy.

AR-C Spool Management System
Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new AR-C spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction.

HAGANE Body
HAGANE Body means this reel has a high rigidity and zero twist. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the anglers actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.

HAGANE Gear
Hagane Gear is at the very heart of the reel and creates strength and durability. The entire cold-forging process is calculated in minute detail by special 3D design and the result is precision durability.

Propulsion Line Management System
The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management System is the new Propulsion spool lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. X-Protect
By combining our water repellent coating and our specially designed, water channeling labyrinth construction, X-Protect provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear and rotor rotation.

X-Ship
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with the S-ARB bearings and integrating bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect rotation even under heavy loads.

The Shimano Abyss SW Spin Jigging Rod has been designed, tested, redesigned, tested, tweaked and tested again by Team Shimano and Tony Orton from Offshore Adventures and his busy charter crews.
