The Reel
Replacing the long-standing Catalina, the new Daiwa 21 Certate SW 10000-P Spinning Reel has been redesigned and redeveloped combining the best parts of the 19 Certate LT and 20 SALTIGA to produce one of the most exciting reel releases in years.
Certate SW shares its Monocoque (MQ) body with the famous 20 Saltiga. The single-piece body removes the requirement of a traditional side plate and screw system, replacing that with an engine plate that houses the incredibly large G1 Duralumin drive gear, also shared with the 20 Saltiga. This body and gear combination was what put 20 Saltiga on the map and is sure to set Certate SW right at the top of the tree when it comes to strength and power.
Equipped with Daiwa's ZAION rotor design, Certate SW is lightweight and strong. ZAION's lightweight construction makes the rotation of Certate SW incredibly light and responsive and also delivers an end result of up to 40 grams of weight saving when compared to 20 SALTIGA. It also comes equipped with a Magseal line roller and Magseal body, which combined with the MQ construction means that Certate SW is supremely well sealed to the elements, giving anglers the confidence that Certate SW will not let them down.
Sharing the same redesigned drag as 20 SALTIGA, Certate SW's multi-layer carbon drag delivers ten times increased drag durability compared to 16 Catalina. The new washer design combined with the aluminium radiation drag knob increases heat dissipation improving drag performance under heavy load.

It's been a long time since Daiwa released a standalone jigging-specific Saltiga series and the wait has been worth it. With a full redesign from the ground up, the new Daiwa Saltiga J S59-3/5 Spin Jig Rod will be your go-to choice for jigging or bottom fishing.
The Braid
The Daiwa UVF Saltiga Durasensor X8 +Si2 Braid is masterfully crafted in Japan using the latest Daiwa technology to produce a silky smooth, super thin line that’s perfect for a host of fishing scenarios. This 8-weave braided line features Daiwa’s muscle PE fibres for higher abrasion resistance and enhanced durability. Despite its extremely thin diameter, the Saltiga Durasensor X8 is super tough with fibres 4x more abrasion resistant than normal braided lines.
Not all braid coatings are created equal. The latest Daiwa Si2+ silicon coating impregnates the individual fibres rather than coating them for a longer-lasting finish which aids in hydrophobicity and line management. The Daiwa UVF Saltiga Durasensor X8 +Si2 Braid is available in larger sizes with traditional multicolour marker in large 300m spools. Perfect for chasing hard-fighting fish!
