This combo pairs the rock-solid Fathom II 2-Speed lever drag reel with the ultra-tough Mercenary jig rod, giving you the perfect blend of winching power and refined sensitivity. With a max drag of 18kg and the lightning-fast 6.0:1 gear ratio, you have the stopping power to turn a stubborn Kingfish and the speed to keep up when the pressure is on.
The Reel
Featuring a full metal body for durability, the PENN Fathom II 40N 2-Speed Lever Drag Reel offers power and speed in a lightweight package. Now with a new cosmetic and a variety of updates including the pull-to-turn preset knob to eliminate accidental changes to the drag. This reel is engineered to be fished with superline and cover a wide range of fishing applications such as jigging, live baiting, and bottom fishing.
The Rod
