Drop and retrieve your anchor with speed and control with the NYS Electric Free-Fall High Speed Drum Anchor Winch. Built from 316 marine-grade stainless steel, this winch handles New Zealand’s harsh saltwater conditions while running quietly and smoothly.
With a 120 kg working load, this 1000W powerhouse has the grunt to pull heavier anchors and longer chain sets through deep water, heavy kelp, or sticky mud. The high-speed free-fall system drops your anchor at 180m per minute, so you can set your anchor quickly and accurately. The drum only free-spools when there is weight on the line, stopping automatically when your anchor hits the seabed to prevent tangles and over-runs.
Raising your anchor is simple with the high-torque permanent magnet motor, retrieving at around 30m per minute, with speed increasing as the drum fills. The fully sealed marine-grade gearbox mounts at 30°, 45°, or 90° to suit different hull layouts, and a dedicated circuit breaker protects the motor from overload. Designed for boats 6.5-9 m, this winch provides professional-grade anchoring for serious blue-water conditions.
