The Semperfli Dry Fly Polyyarn is a buoyant polypropylene fly-tying material designed for creating floating dry flies, bodies, and detached body patterns. Known as “floating yarn” among fly tyers, its fine fibrous structure traps air to help flies stay on the surface.
The tightly bonded yarn is easy to work with, allowing fly tyers to create durable, tapered bodies with a natural buggy appearance. Available in a range of solid and mottled colours, it provides versatile options for imitating a variety of insect patterns.
With a specific gravity of 0.91g/cm3, polypropylene is lighter than water, making Semperfli Dry Fly Polyyarn ideal for creating floating dry fly patterns.
