The Reel
The Okuma Distance Surf Arena 80 Spinning Reel features a round metal line clip, fast progressive drag and a worm shaft transmission system for tidy line lay. Quick-Set anti-reverse engages the reel in one direction for rock-solid hook sets, while the Hydro Block drag system keeps water and foreign material out so the drag washers always perform at optimal levels. The Even Flow roller system reduces line twist by rolling freely without friction, and the Rotor Equalising System eliminates spool wobble for perfect alignment and smooth cranking.
The Rod
When you are faced with a long cast over shallow ground to reach the deep channel, or need the leverage to lift a big fish clear of the kelp, the 13ft 6in Okuma Endurance Surf Rod is the tool for the job. Its advanced E Carbon construction is 200g lighter than the previous model, making this powerhouse surprisingly comfortable to handle. It combines the casting distance of a surf rod with the practical features of a rock rod, including the classic wooden spud for anchoring on rock platforms, and the three-piece construction makes it easy to carry into hard-to-reach spots.
