Quick tip to protect your transducer plugs
If you usually take out your unit from your boat, then you can learn a thing or two here about keeping those transducer plugs protected.

Get your hands on some die-electric grease. They usually come in cheap tubes that you can buy at a marine or auto store. Generously coat your transducer plug pins with the grease.
Take that cable connection end with the grease and place it inside a small Ziploc-type bag. Tie a rubber band around it to secure. Lastly, position it so that water would not run into the bag.
It’s a good habit to protect those plugs. So you won’t have to deal with faulty readings or no readings at all!
