The Reel
The all-new Shimano Twin Power XD A C5000XG Spinning Reel features a refined and optimized design for next-level saltwater durability and performance. Featuring robust CI4+ construction, this rugged reel is lighter compared to the original Twin Power XD from 2017.
The Shimano Twin Power XD A C5000XG Spinning Reel is packed with features expertly engineered for overpowering the most challenging fish. It sports Shimano's micro module gear II and silent drive for extremely smooth and silent operation. The main Hagane gear provides strong cranking power, while X-protects grant superior saltwater resistance.
The Rod
The Shimano Zodias Extra Heavy Spinning Rod has undergone a significant upgrade and now features Shimano's exclusive Carbon Monocoque Butt for the ultimate in sensitivity. The Full Carbon Monocoque rod butt is made of hollow carbon construction, eliminating the use of EVA from the rear grip. This results in a very lightweight construction that is extremely sensitive and improves vibration transmission through the rod blank to your hand when working a lure. To provide the exact balance between power and finesse, the Zodias continues to feature Shimano's Hi-Power X graphite blank and Ci4+ Reel Seat. The Shimano Zodias Extra Heavy Spinning Rod also features upgraded Fuji Stainless Alconite K guides with a SiC tip. It has a slick red and black finish, making it a perfect match for many Shimano reels.
Carbon Monocoque
Carbon Monocoque grip is a new level of high sensitivity for rods with the innovative idea of hollowing the rear grip by carbon integral moulding. This allows for unprecedented lightness and sensitivity.
Hi-Power X
In Hi-Power X construction, the blank's outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, which forms an array of "X" shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control by the angler.
