The Ronstan RF72900 2-Speed Mainsheet System with Ratchet is engineered for optimal performance on sportsboats and keel boats up to 12 metres. This sophisticated system combines a lightweight design with a high load capacity, making it an ideal choice for competitive sailing environments. Constructed with carbon black Acetal ball bearings, U.V. stabilised Acetal sheaves and alloy ratchet sheaves. The system features alloy cheeks and a Torlon ratchet pawl, along with adjustable cleat arms for enhanced control.
The two-speed mainsheet system allows both coarse and fine tuning within a single purchase system. The capability to fine-tune the mainsheet while sailing upwind can be achieved by utilising one of the sheet tails while cleating the other. This design enables the trimmer to quickly release the main when rounding the top mark and efficiently trim in when hardening up after rounding the bottom mark.
