Responsive control for slow jigging
The Shimano Corvalus 300 Taipan Slow Jig Overhead Combo combines the Shimano Corvalus 300 baitcast reel with a 6ft 6in two-piece Taipan Overhead Slow Jig Rod rated for 10-20lb line. The Corvalus 300 features a 5.2:1 gear ratio, 5kg maximum drag and 56cm retrieve per crank, while the Taipan rod uses an integrated graphite blank for a lightweight, responsive feel.
The two-piece rod features Fuji O-Ring guides and custom EVA grips, making the combo suited to slow jigging and other boat fishing applications.
The Reel
The Shimano Corvalus 300 Baitcast Reel features a diecast aluminium frame, sideplates and spool, with three A-RB bearings and one stainless steel roller bearing. The Variable Brake System (VBS) uses centrifugal braking to help control spool speed during casting, while the Quickfire II clutch bar casting system provides quick spool engagement.
The 5.2:1 gear ratio and 56cm retrieve per crank suit slow jigging, soft baiting and bait fishing.
The Rod
The Shimano Taipan Overhead Slow Jig Rod features an integrated graphite blank for a lightweight, responsive feel, with Fuji O-Ring guides for reliable line management. Custom EVA grips provide a comfortable hold, while the two-piece construction makes the rod easier to transport and store.
The 6ft 6in rod is rated for 10-20lb line and is suited to slow jigging and other boat fishing applications.
